Color faxing: a technology without a market

Color faxing: a technology without a market

I just tried to send a fax, which is a rare enough event these days in itself. But when I hit the send button, I went for the green Start button instead of the black Start button. Result: my multifunction printer tried to send a color fax, and it was rejected on the other end. I then realized I don’t think I’ve EVER sent or received a color fax. Have you? If so … why?

This is either a technology that is woefully underused, or one that was so easy to invent, manufacture, and distribute, that it didn’t really matter whether anyone wanted it or not.
