Why would you want to use Microsoft Website when you got Linux installed? :-)

I've not come across a site requiring IE for a long time now. And if I would, it would just show the incompetence of its developers.

I'm professionally working with Linux now for more than a year and got a lot more productive. Give it a try!

Actually, I think you're good to go. Another convert for the linux world!

Linux has long had a development effort for MS Windows OS emulation via a package called wine.

An example of a stand-alone IE emulator that uses wine (as well as the package cabextract) is called IEs 4 Linux:

http://www.tatanka.com.br/ies4linux/page/Main_Page

I'm currently running Fedora Core 8 and, some time ago, easily installed all three (wine and cabextract via "yumex", the YUM extender for package installation/updating) and ies4linux from the command line. Piece of cake in FC8, and it runs fine.

I would attach a screen shot of IE6 in action viewing MSNBC, but I don't know how to attach images to the comments section of your blog...

I look forward to reading about your next steps into the linux world!

Firefox isn't attempting to emulate IE. It is standards compliant, which is what IE is trying to achieve.

But you still make a valid point.
