ACL Allograft Reconstruction Protocol
In case you were wondering what they’ve got me doing to rehab my knee, this will give you a rough idea. I’m not perfectly in line with the protocol. I’m not doing any pool work, for example, and I was already on the exercise bike one week post-op instead of waiting until week four.
I feel like I’m ready to move to Phase II already, but I suppose if I rush things I risk reinjury, and we wouldn’t want that. I’ll have to be patient, I guess. (No pun intended.)
Kudos to Dr. Gomoll for what seems to have been an extremely successful procedure.

Interested in discussing knee histories? I was Dr Minas’ first Canadian patient and first patient to have an aci/acl(second one) and osteotomy at the same time! That was fun. He was and is amazing and my life was great for 12 yrs…I slipped on an apple on the ground and was having some discomfort. Turns out I have spurs compromising the graft so I get to do this again in a few weeks. I have the utmost faith and respect for him..just not relishing the thought of watching the world go by from the comfort of my bed laden cpm machine! At least now there are laptop computers…they did not exist when at the time of my last go around..nor did some of the other fun stuff that can kill time.
