Jacob, Jay no longer claims to have a Master’s degree from BU. And one can intelligently discuss law without having a law degree. I’m no Jay fan, obviously, but let’s keep the attacks on him to a higher standard than he uses to attack others.

Jay Severin is a guy who lies…flat out lies…He claims to have had a Masters Degree but was publically outted by his “alma matter”, Boston University that he never even went to the school…he also discusses case law and law in general as if he holds a JD but DOESNT…hes really pathetic, reminds me of a friend of mine who never went to college and goes out of his way to tell every one how dumb educated people are. Jay is indeed a very insecure person.

I havent listened to his show since I moved home from the US about 4 years ago. I just started istening again online as I was curious as to how he acted now after the last 4 years and Bushes second term. I guess I started listening to him during the build up to the last election so its highly amusing to hear is talk now.

I think this man is clearly mentally disturbed or just clever enough to know what sells…. he does make good money as he is never shy of telling us. Anyway the point of this post is that I just looked up hi wiki entry… my draw dropped. How is this man actually still on the air? I mean I find him amusing but surely he has stepped over the line. Talking about killing all Muslims? Claiming faulse qualifications? In what line of work should these things not get you the sack?

Many people’s response to Jay is, “Uh…” either because they are flabbergasted by the untenable fantasies he refers to as logic, or because he tells them to “shut up if you want to stay on the radio…your choice”.

David:
I just found your blog, and a welcome find it is. I’ve been seething for days after Jay’s recent exposition on the 39 Lies About Obama being peddled by Terry Anderson. He stated them as fact, then at the end made a brief comment about not being able to vouch for them because he found them on the internet. Well, if you can’t vouch for them, haven’t researched them and can’t present a single shred of evidence as to their veracity…maybe you shouldn’t read them on your radio program, Jay!

Anyway David, glad you’re out there blogging the truth about yet another right wing nutjob with a radio show.

Thanks for sharing your Severinitis bout. I listen to that lunatic from time to time to hear what the “other side” has to say. On many occassions it’s just too hard to take and, as you experienced, he won’t keep a caller on line that doesn’t agree with him. I enjoy hearing an honest discussion of different view points, but Jay only allows one view point, his. I don’t think it’s fair to his listeners who are apparently not well educated to feed them with so many untruths. What can we do to petition him off the airwaves?

Let us not forget that “Jay Severin” spent the better part of his non-public live as Jimmy Severino. SO, he changed his name, most likely so that it sounded less like and “immigrant name” and talks about his integrity all the time. Hey, Jimmy, let’s talk more about Obama using his middle name so as not to fool anyone, but let’s also talk about your past and self-hatred refelocted in your name change. If we look into the Severino past, will we find Italian Immigrants? Were they legal? Did they all learn English. My guess is that there are some problems to be discussed there.

Jay Severin has a bad case of Narcissistic Personality Disorder, which is a well-known DSM-IV mental illness that has no cure. If you count how many times he says “I” or “me” in every sentence, it becomes quite clear that something is wrong. The Jay Severin show is about nothing other than Jay Severin–a platform for Jay to promote his favorite person: Jay Severin. He loves to talk about what Jay has done, where Jay lives, who Jay knows, how smart Jay is, where Jay has been, how sexy Jay is, etc., etc.

He clearly has self-esteem issues and basically spends all his waking hours trying to overcompensate for what he probably deeply believes are his many failures and shortcomings. He’s probably not happy with his looks either.

The show can be entertaining on those occasions when he offers political insight, but when his self-absorption becomes too thick and heavy, my radio gets tuned elsewhere.

As with many narcissists, he’s very smart. The interesting thing about such people is how their disorder clouds their judgment. I enjoy listening to see how and when he will dig his own grave.

The most fun is when he implodes, like he did after your call and Gerry’s call. I love it when the smoke comes out of his ears and he gives a great public display of mental illness. Now THAT’S entertainment.
